Zoom provides an API and OAuth-based authentication system that allows third-party platforms to schedule meetings, access user information, and more — securely and efficiently.
To integrate Zoom into your platform, you need:
- ✅ Zoom Account ID
- ✅ Zoom OAuth Client ID
- ✅ Zoom OAuth Client Secret
Here’s how to get them step-by-step:
✅ Step 1: Sign in to Zoom Marketplace
- Visit the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click on the “Sign In” button at the top right and log in using your Zoom account credentials.
🔐 You must have a Pro, Business, or higher Zoom plan to access developer features.
✅ Step 2: Create a New App
- Once logged in, click on the “Develop” menu (top-right corner).
- Select “Build App” from the dropdown.
- You’ll see several app types — choose “OAuth”.
- Click the “Create” button under OAuth.
✅ Step 3: Configure OAuth App
1. App Type Selection
- Choose “Account-level app” if your integration will be used across your entire Zoom account (recommended for most platforms).
- Click “Create”.
2. App Info
Fill in the required fields:
- App Name
- Company Name
- Developer Contact Email
Click Continue.
✅ Step 4: Add Redirect URL and Whitelist URL
Zoom needs a Redirect URL to send the authorization code back to your application.
Required:
- Redirect URL for OAuth (provided by the platform where you’re integrating Zoom)
- Whitelist URL (same as the domain of your redirect URL)
📌 Example:
If the platform gives you this redirect URL:https://yourplatform.com/zoom/callback
Use it in both the Redirect URL and Whitelist URL fields.
Click Continue.
✅ Step 5: Copy Your Client ID and Client Secret
Once you fill in the basic info and URLs, Zoom will generate the credentials:
- ✅ Client ID
- ✅ Client Secret
🔒 Keep these credentials confidential. Never expose them on the frontend.
✅ Step 6: Get Your Zoom Account ID
You can find your Zoom Account ID by:
Method 1: Using Zoom Developer Portal
- Go to Zoom Developer Dashboard.
- Click on your OAuth app.
- In the App Credentials section, locate Account ID.
Method 2: Using Zoom Web Portal
- Visit Zoom Web Portal.
- Navigate to: Admin > Account Profile
- You’ll see the Account Number or Account ID listed there.
✅ Step 7: Enable Scopes for API Access
Scopes determine what permissions your Zoom app has.
Click the “Scopes” tab and add the required scopes. Common ones include:
meeting:readmeeting:writeuser:readuser:read:adminrecording:read(if you need access to recordings)
Click Add Scopes, then Continue.
✅ Step 8: Activate Your App
Once all fields are filled and scopes are set:
- Click “Continue” until you reach the “Activation” page.
- Click the “Activate your app” button.
✅ Step 9: Add Credentials to Your Platform
Go to the Zoom settings section on your platform (e.g., admin panel or plugin settings) and input:
- 🔑 Zoom Client ID
- 🔐 Zoom Client Secret
- 🆔 Zoom Account ID
- 🔁 Redirect URL (if required by the platform)
Save your settings.
✅ Step 10: Test the Connection
Once saved, test the connection by:
- Trying to schedule a meeting
- Authorizing your Zoom account (you may be redirected to a Zoom login page)
- Confirming that the integration works without errors
